Position Summary

The Department of Criminology at Bar-Ilan University is looking for a Lecturer or a Senior Lecturer. The candidate for this position will have a proven record (or clear potential for one at the Lecturer level) in conducting and publishing high quality research in applicable journals and applying for competitive grants. The position will also involve teaching four courses a semester, supervising graduate students and performing university and community-engaged service. We welcome applicants from any specialization within criminology especially those with research (and ability to teach) in the area of criminal justice, cyber-crime, white collar crime or rehabilitation. We strongly encourage all qualified scholars to apply.

The Department of Criminology at Bar-Ilan university, outside of Tel Aviv, is home to students in their BA, MA and PhD’s. It is the first Israeli University to run a Bachelors course in Criminology and the founders of the prestigious Clinical Criminology Masters’ Program. The department sits in the Faculty of Social Science and welcomes multidisciplinary research from psychological, sociological and criminal justice perspectives.

Basic Qualifications


Candidates must have a PhD and post-doctoral research in an accepted academic institution. They must have a proven publishing record, appropriate for the level at which they are applying (Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer). Applicants must demonstrate a record of effective teaching at the undergraduate level, including the ability to teach and communicate, in Hebrew, with a broadly diverse student population.
